We have been doing some serious decorating and revamping in our house. Thanks to Sarah at the Thrifty Decor Chic I have made some big changes for VERY LITTLE MONEY... I think all the things that we did this weekend cost us a TOTAL of $40ish!!!!
Here is what we did...
FIRST we went to a garage sale and I saw the most amazing lamp (only if you can look past the ugliness) and I try not to share too loudly with my hubby what I am planning on doing just in case the owners find out that they really want to keep it and my wonderful hubby looks doubtful and says whatever you want honey.
BEFORE:
AFTER:
The lamp shade is magnetic and I couldn't resist putting clips with tags on it... not sure that it will stay but it's a magnet that I can remove if I need to. LOVE IT!!
Cost: $3 for the lamp $3 for the black spray paint
Total: $6
NEXT THE FRAMES...
We have this weird space that is painted paneling that has been bare since we moved in and needed some much love. At that same yard sale I bought these picture frames for $.50 each and painted them as well.
BEFORE:
I removed the UGLY pictures and just used the frame to string wire across.
AFTER:
Close Up of the frames, they have wire strung across the frame and then I added clips for cards, photos, tags and anything else to create a collage.
I will post pictures when I have it done... this isn't the way I will keep it I just needed to put random stuff in it to show the hubby.
COST: Frames $1.50 total and Spray paint $3
Total: $4.50
SAVED THE BEST FOR LAST:
The coffee table... I have been stalking Goodwill and Craigs list for the PERFECT coffee table and NO LUCK. It was driving me nuts and at CHA I was talking to an editor (or someone important) at Simply Handmade and he was talking about a coffee table that he had see that was made out of Pallets. I filed it and finally gave up my search for the perfect coffee table and decided to make the pallet coffee table.
BEFORE:
AFTER:
TOTAL COST: Pallets FREE FREE FREE, Caster wheels- $16 EEK, Paint $1 from the oops shelf in Home Depot, $15 lumber another EEK
TOTAL COST: $32
This coffee table is huge and perfect in our room. LOVE IT!!
We did all this while me being totally sick, I can't wait to feel normal again. But the kids are healthy and for that I am thankful.

Every item made me say wow, and that table is FAB!!! You guys did FANTASTIC!
